The newest NOS technologyWe continue our foray into the NOS (NON Over-Sampling DAC) space with the introduction of the GigaLab Moon DAC.  The Moon DAC employs the latest in Phillips TDA-1543 NOS technology where it uses advanced digital receivers, low noise isolated power supplies, USB, Coax and Optical capability in a neat trim package that takes little real estate yet provides big bold sound.Built to Last  The Giga Lab Moon DAC uses an advanced DIR9001 receiver that is more robust than the typical CS8412/4/6 receivers. The DIR9001 is flush mounted directly to the circuit board (socket-less) for low distortion. Moving along the PCB are eight parallel mounted Phillips TDA-1543 chips located to minimize the signal path and used the alumina chassis for the maximum heat dissipation (a heatsink is not enough for such 8 chaips).A high-end power supply starts with a 10W military grade transformer tightly sealed for vibration damping. 1N5062 rectifiers and LT1048 5A voltage regulators complete the power regulation picture.  Special Phillips BC118 and Nichicon capacitors are strategically placed for maximum sound quality in the signal path.~~ The USB interface supports Windows XP/ XP pro, 2000 & Vista~~ Apple Mac OS 9.1, X10 or later version GIGALAB MOON NOS-DAC TDA1543 --- simple elegance1. Digital receiver ~    Keep most accurate digital signal and feed to TDA1543 in low jitter fashion.     DIR9001 digital receiver is the answer for this propose. DIR9001 is a new modern IC, much more expensive than the     popular CS8412/4/6 used in most of the DAC. it produces more music details and keep much accurate sound you obtain.2. Paralleling DAC chips ~    We parallel up to 8 TDA1543 chips.  It is a independent DAC board, no other circuit associated with it to keep most     'clean' electronic. 8 paralleling did enhance performance and get much better resolution and lower output impedance. 3. USB receiving for computer based source ~    We incoporate USB receiving capicity to our new version of 1543dac. Unlike other USB dac use pcm170x chip which     integrate USB  reciving and dac in one chip, which is very low cost and low performance. Our approach of USB DAC     use very decicate design,  it used a independent USB recieing chip to get I2S digital signal feed into TDA1543 chip. 4. Precision Clock ~    In order to get best quality digital signal for TDA1543 chip, we integrate independ precision clocking and redata circuit     for digital reciving. You will nerver find any commercial NOS DAC have such dedicate digital design.     No matter what price they are !!  We inverst our best efforts to extrapolate potential of TDA1543 chip. Our implementation     may be the best TDA1543 based DAC in market. 5. Profuse power supply ~    10W sealed military grade power transformer was used in this DAC, it can offer up to 5 times required electronic power.     No vibration or heating from this transformer. In rectification circuit, we use the best sound 1N5062 diode, it is most     credit diode in audio tweaking. It do signicifantly improve sound quality, more smooth and natural sound.     Expensive LT1084 5A voltage regulator and Philips BC118, Nichicon capacitor were used in the power supply section     to offer Â¨clean〃 and low drop voltage to TDA1543 and DIR9001 chips.6. Digital data transmission transformer ~    A ST-DV709 digital data transformer was used to reducing the common mode noise and to avoid EMI.     the transformer are essential in improving the balance of the data transmission. This simple and compact NOS-DAC do have most delicate design and very good parts choice.
